I've been hearing that people want to know: "WHAT HAPPENED AFTER THOSE MEETINGS WE HAD IN JUNE OF 2025?"
First, I'm sorry I haven't been more vocal about the steps taken. With that, here is an update: After those meetings I kept working with Alex as my coach. With her help looking at the information gathered and the people who came to the meetings, I invited 5 people to form a leadership team. This leadership team is for me - it's Fr. Capadano's leadership team. This is different from the Pastoral Council and other committees. The best analogy I can come up with is the difference between the Senate and the president's cabinet. The Pastoral Council is like the senate, my leadership team is like my cabinet. My leadership team started meeting regularly in late fall. At first, we focused on team building. Eventually we looked at the information gathered from the meetings and formed a Mission Statement for our Family of Parishes. From there we developed three strategic anchors: Evangelization of Adults, Organizational Health, and Hospitality. With these strategic anchors we focused on the evangelization of adults first. Our "Rally Cry" became: Launch ALPHA. We have been working on launching ALPHA in the Fall for our three parishes. This summer we will be actively laying the groundwork for a big launch. After we launch ALPHA, we will be working harder on Organizational Health and Hospitality. I hope as you read this, you see the meetings we had were very helpful and will begin to bear fruit soon. Thank you for being a part of them!
So what is ALPHA? ALPHA is a program used throughout the country in various Christian churches. We will be using Catholic ALPHA. The goal of ALPHA is to be "the beginning." 11 meetings (watch videos, discuss, pray, and eat), held in a small group model, centered around meeting and knowing Jesus within a community. Anyone can and will benefit from this opportunity, but it is especially for those who are in the seeking, questioning, or pre-trust stages of becoming a disciple. All "levels" of disciples will benefit from ALPHA, if at the very least, by having a small group they can live their faith with. Please watch for more information and advertisements and prayerfully consider making yourself available for it!
